The most useful book for students to read over a break from school is The Memory Book by Harry Lorrayne & Jerry Lucas.
It makes mastering material much easier by teaching students how to use a handful of fun methods to make students' memories more accessible to them.
An easy read, it's also a fast read in that some of the material--card tricks, etc.--don't apply to students. I broke down the methods and wrote them down to learn them.
