My last book read was "Woman Writer" by Joyce Carol Oates. Have never sampled any of her fiction, but I am never disappointed by her essays; this last book is no exception.Oates is a brilliant writer, so why not tag along with her as she lasers in on such topics as Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, artist George Bellows, Hemingway, & Gorbachev. The only negative thing for me is three essays devoted to Mike Tyson, which are at least two too many. Ugh.
